dotSHOP (.shop) is the new generic top-level domain (gTLD) for e-commerce.
In June 2008 the Board of ICANN, the organization that oversees the Internet's addressing system, approved a recommendation substantially relaxing the rules for introducing TLDs.
In light of the new gTLD Program, GMO Registry was established to offer new gTLD application assistance, systems development, operation, and marketing support services to corporations, organizations and government bodies. GMO Registry is backed by the expertise, experience and strengths of GMO Internet Group whose domain business manages millions of domains.
